How we started
In 2016 Robert was visiting his good friends Mic and Isabel in the Galapagos. Mic and Isabel were on a 3 year surf and sail trip through the Pacific on their sail boat. His intrepid sea-legged friends of the ocean had learnt a secret sailors method of creating your own self carbonating ginger beer, passed on through generations and generations of fair weathered sailors. The Galapagos was incredibly beautiful but incredibly hot sitting right on the Equator and this sailors made beverage was a refreshing escape from the persistent and repressing heat. Robert took the idea back to Australia and slightly tinkering with the method tried to create an East Coast Australian offering of wild fermented ginger beer! Practice almost made perfection however in 2018 another trip was required for further R&D whilst his friends were now in a remote tropical paradise in northern Tahiti. Firstly coconut drinking and surfing were participated in but some intense research and development followed for the ultimate ginger beer recipe on board the boat. Whilst the surf was incredible in the paradisical waters the ultimate code was cracked for wild fermented drinks.
Wild Yeast Brewing Co. was finally created in 2020 in Lennox Head, northern NSW Australia and released to the world!
